Nicole Kidman to star as the first male who underwent a sex change in ‘The Danish Girl’
From Tomas Alfredson, director of the indie vampire hit ‘Let The Right One In’ comes an adaptation of David Ebershoff’s book.  Period piece set in 1931 about the first man to receive a sex change operation.  And somehow he turns out looking like Nicole Kidman.  Wow.

Ellen to inject humor into ‘American Idol’
In a pretty surprising move, Idol has hired Ellen to replace Paula as one of the main judges in the highest rated television show in America.
“I’m thrilled to be the new judge on ‘American Idol,’” DeGeneres said in a statement. ”I’ve watched since the beginning, and I’ve always been a huge fan. So getting this job is a dream come true, and think of all the money I’ll save from not having to text in my vote.”
“I could not be more excited to have Ellen join the ‘American Idol’ family,” said creator and executive producer Simon Fuller. “Ellen has been a fan of the show for many years, and her love of music and understanding of the American public will bring a unique human touch to our judging panel. I can’t wait for this next season to begin.”
Neither can I.

‘Hancock’ stars to return for sequel
“Everybody’s going to come back for a sequel,” said the director (Peter Berg) in response to a question about Will Smith and Charlize Theron.
“Riding the Will Smith train is a really nice train to ride!” says Theron.
For the sequel, Berg said we can expect the appearance of at least one more all-powerful god. What’s more, he’s got his eye on a well-known name to play a third superhero.
“We have [someone in mind],” Berg said. “I’m not gonna tell you who, but we have!”

New epic ‘MAG’ video game trailer

What happens when you split 256 people into armies and have them battle it out online?  A cinematic experience that changes the way you play first person shooters.  I’ve been playing the beta of this game for a bit now and am under their NDA, but I can say this is definitely a game to keep your eyes on if you want to see one of the next evolutions of the shooting game.

‘Glee’ premieres next Wednesday, September 9th on Fox
Watched the pilot today and this seems like it could be the next great show on Fox.  Its a little bit darker, older, and more serious version of High School Musical, which is actually a good thing.  If you like music, you’ll like ‘Glee.’
Directors cut of the pilot below via Hulu:
