Watched the premiere of ‘Vampire Diaries’ on CW the other day
and I must say it was very disappointing.  There was nothing likeable about anyone except the main actress, and even then, the story got tedious within the first 30 minutes.  This series might redeem itself like ‘Dollhouse,’ but somehow I doubt it.  If you want to see vampires on TV, stick to ‘True Blood.’

‘Glee’ premieres next Wednesday, September 9th on Fox
Watched the pilot today and this seems like it could be the next great show on Fox.  Its a little bit darker, older, and more serious version of High School Musical, which is actually a good thing.  If you like music, you’ll like ‘Glee.’

Woah, I remember watching these when I was really young.  Quite excited to see what they do with this film.

Just watched ‘The Happening’ on TV last night
And it was… a bit strange, random, silly, but you know what?  It had enough going on that you wanted to find out what happened to the main characters that were played by Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel.  Although there were a few outrageous plot points, and some of the delivery from the actors were very iffy, it was overall well edited and paced decently.  I’m glad I didn’t pay to watch this movie, but as DVD or TV fodder, its a decent few hours of your life you won’t regret.

Just watched ‘Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist’
And I thought it was a really cute movie.  Set over the span of one day and one night, Nick (Cera) meets his soulmate in his ex-girlfriend’s childhood friend Norah (Dennings).  They spend the majority of their time around Alphabet City and East Village, and all of the situations are very believable and true to New York City’s night life (at the time).  Nick’s gay band supporting cast is very funny, and his ex-gf (Dziena) plays the bitch role with enough vulnerability to make it interesting.  Very watchable.

Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, 2008. Starring Michael Cera, Kat Dennings, Ari Graynor, Alexis Dziena, Jay Baruchel, Aaron Yoo, Rafi Gavron. (Director: Peter Sollett)———————————————————————————————————
Plot: Norah (Dennings) wants to prove to her friend Tris (Dziena) that she’s capable of having a boyfriend. So at a concert, she grabs the first guy she sees, Nick (Cera), and asks him to pretend they’re dating, but it turns out that Nick is Tris’s ex. Despite the fact that they started off as a fauxmance, Nick and Norah’s relationship turns real as they traipse through Manhattan, sharing their love of music and all things weird.

Oscar winner to compose music for ‘Modern Warfare 2’
Hans Zimmer is writing music for video games now.  Zimmer’s film resume includes “The Dark Knight,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Gladiator,” “Rain Man” and “Driving Miss Daisy.” He won an Oscar in 1995 for “The Lion King.” Upcoming movie work includes “Sherlock Holmes” and “Inception.”
Modern Warfare 2 releases November 10, 2009 on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.  And the first game was one of the most enjoyable first-person shooting games this generation.
Can we say epic?
